I was talking to a couple friends of mine recently about kinda being interested in a girl. I kinda was making excuses for not seeing if she would be interested in hanging out sometime. And they gave me the candid response, “All she can say is no.” And I thought about it for a bit, and realized something. When you are use to “no” being set as default in these situations, then a no isn’t just a no. Everyone you get chips away a bit of your resolve. So to get a no is to bare the weight of all the no(s) that came before it. And eventually that weight becomes to much to handle, which makes you avoid putting yourself out there.
